Learning Objective
I can identify the different chess pieces and how they move.
- 1
At the start of a chess game, each player should have a light-colored square on the bottom right-hand side.
- 2
The rook moves in a plus (+) pattern, the bishop moves diagonally, and the queen can move like both the rook and bishop.
- 3
The special move where you move the king two squares towards a rook, and then place the rook on the other side of the king, is called castling.
